On the 14th September 2015, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) were integrated into the DesignView database, making their respective design data available to the Designview search tool.
With the addition of over 4,175,000 designs provided by the three new offices, Designview now provides information and access to circa 8.6 million designs in total
DesignView is a fully multilingual centralised system providing access to all registered design information held by the participating National Offices, allowing users to perform searches in one common platform.
Designview now boasts 35 participating offices and, with the addition of over 4,175,000 designs provided by the three new offices, it now provides information and access to circa 8.6 million designs in total.
The search tool’s ongoing enhancement is a concrete result of the International Cooperation programme managed by OHIM in collaboration with its international partners.
Malta joined Designview in March 2014 and other participating offices include, inter alia, Bulgaria, Benelux, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia and OHIM.
