On the 10th January 2016, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) published revised standard application documents relative to the authorisation of collective investment schemes/ investment funds. The application documents comprise revised application forms and checklists relating to the prospectus/offering documents as well as to depositary agreement/s (where applicable).
The revisions form part of the MFSA’s ongoing initiative to consolidate and simplify Malta’s fund regimes and to enhance the efficiency of the fund application process as a whole
The revisions form part of the MFSA’s ongoing initiative to consolidate and simplify Malta’s fund regimes and to enhance the efficiency of the fund application process as a whole. The exercise also includes a general update of the MFSA’s investment fund rulebooks which is in the process of being finalised.
It is understood that, going forward, Malta fund applications may be submitted to the MFSA using the said revised application forms and corresponding checklists and that the current application forms are expected to be replaced and phased out by the 1st March 2017.
