Malta has retained its status as one of the most advanced global economies in terms of the Global Competitiveness Report for 2015-2016 published by the World Economic Forum. Most significantly, the World Economic Forum’s said Report placed Malta amongst the top twenty financial services jurisdictions worldwide.

The Report points to Malta as one of the best ranked nations in terms of the soundness of its banks, the strength of auditing standards and reporting standards and availability and affordability of the jurisdiction’s financial services industry.

Malta retained its status as an innovation-driven economy and also scored highly in key sectors such as quality of air transport and port infrastructures, as well as capacity to attract and maintain talent.
